The Fight at Queniborough Partizan 2012

The little, historic village of Queniborough awoke on Sunday morning to the distance sounds of vehicles moving and men marching.

Meanwhile in the  village Princess Elizabeth was having talks with several of the local faction leaders but the others had got wind of this and planned and moved against her.

The Duke of Rutland raced forward his BUF troops, the elite of his army, towards the small village but others had plans too. The Bishop of Bath and Wells visiting the local Anglican League encampment pushed up from Launde Abbey with his movements being tracked and follows by the Somerset Freedom Fighters. Others loyal to King Edward VIII in the shape of the WI and Melton Hunter rushed forward to help, capture the Princess. The socialist force raced out of the city of Leicester to head off the BUF and Al forces operating too close to the city while a force of Albertines came as a relief force the Princess.

And it was not long before the first shots were fired, actually it was a jam jar bomb at the local Everads Morris Troop causing them to retreat into the pub where they stayed. Before long the SFF was attacking the hunt, the socialists push up hard in the centre, the Albertines flanking the SFF and marching at the socialists. Meanwhile the Bishop of Bath and Wells moved his troops together the house where the Princess was and the BUF forces having problems crossing the walls and hedges.

The Hunt charge toward the yellow house but the SFF took advantage of this and caused casualties in there ranks. in the meantime the Albertine forces clashed with the socialists but the Albertine cavalry got cut down but the post office trade union personnel. in the meantime the Bishops troops advanced to take up good positions and started to range in mortars on the BUF causing them to retire but they also still suffered from the walls and hedges and not being able to climb over them.

More to follow later.

Bad News for Me

I am sorry that I have not posted the report and pictures as yet but I have had a crappy couple of days. My external hard drive which is only a year old has decided to give up the ghost. Now this would normally mean I would loose a few films and a few books but I had recently moved all my artwork, including the pieces that I am working on recently and it looks like I have lost the blooming lot, which is two and a half years worth of work. To say I am pissed off is a little bit of an understatement and I am hope that I can recovery at least the artwork and research that is on there. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow and get to posting again. Again I am sorry for not getting the reports done.

The Humberstone Militia Gets Serious

Well some of you will know that I have a troop of cavalry from the Prince Albert's Own Leicester Yeomanry and at the time on the VBCW were on the move from cavalry to artillery armed with 18/25pdr.

Now I dont think anyone as yet does any 18/25pdr in 28mm so I have gone for the next best thing and a little more VBCW, a 18pdr.

Now this one complete with its limber and crew come from Reiver Casting a company that I have a real soft spot for and I rather like there ranges. Good work horse figures I think is the best way to describe them but paint up wonderfully.

Hopefully I will have it completed for Sunday and Partizan, not that I am going to use it, lol.

Partizan test shot of Queniborough

Here are some test shots of Queniborough for the game at Partizan this Sunday, to given an idea of the layout of the place. So will all know that this will of course change but I now have the idea.

The Manor house, the roads, fences are missing as are a couple of farm building but in general the idea and layout is there.

I love the barricades and with everything else in place it will look good, well I hope so.

The modern building and the church are by Warbases who do some excellence Mdf buildings and a good 28mm church, which is so hard to find. The older building are from 4Ground who do some lovely pre painted building in 28mm with interiors, for the lazy model maker like me. The standing stones are PanzerKaput Building Enterprises and are the Humber Stones were Humberstone takes its name from.

New Albertine Book on Pre Order

My New Book
Here is another attempt at shameless self promotion and its about this new book. Yes the Albertine or to give it its correct title The Army of Prince Albert, Lord Protector and no book on a army on Prince Alberts, a book which I wouldnt want to illustrate. The guide to the Army of Prince Albert, the Lord Protector will hopefully be available at Partizan. This volume will have plates by me and schematics as used in the County books- so a lot of colour. In addition the back story is pretty flexable, providing pegs upon which campaigns could develop, and as promised we've built in considerable restraint to ensure the Albertines are not an all conquoring force and have plenty of problems of their own. This is available for pre order from Si at Solway for the price of Eight of your hard earned pounds plus postage and packaging. This is the end to my self promotion and advertising and back to painting and preparing for Partizan.

The Duke of Rutland's Own

I have managed to finish two, yes two units for the game at Partizan this Sunday 27th May. The first unit is actually the Duke of Rutland's' Own BUF Company in there new BUF uniforms bases on the Italian Fascists rather than the Nazis of German.

The actual uniform of with the blue facings identifying them as a part of the Severn and Midlands Division and the Company flag bears the arms of the Duke himself.

I am rather happy with the uniforms and the overall effect and feel of the unit. The miniatures are from Musketeers' Inter-War Range, sculpted by Paul Hicks and are rather nice I hope you agree.

If that wasn't enough the next unit is the BUF Militia from Leicestershire which have fled to join the Duke and his forces in a hope of fighting the socialists of Leicester and strangely they now have there chance.
These chaps being militia of sorts have now uniform what so ever and one might say that they have no direction what so ever save causing mischief and mayhem.

These fellows are from Paul Hicks' own company Mutton Chop Miniatures being his Weasels and it somehow fits them. I will be replacing the banner with something more well weaselly once Partizan is out of the way. I again are rather pleased with myself as these have turned out are nicely.

And just to finish off I have and finished and based Syd James and Charles Hawtree again from Mutton Chops and these chaps will be seeing an outing to at Partizan.

Flags for Partizan

Here are a couple of flags that I have made for my Duke of Rutland's Own British Union of Fascists Company or by the socialists of Leicester as the Doctor O Buffs on account of shorting to DROBUF. I have gone for the symbol of Rutland, the acorns and horseshoe and add the moniker referring back to the War of the Roses and how even now the Duke is loyal to the King.

I have also done another flag for the Leicester BUF using the county flag and the Boars of Richard III. Also the moniker which states True to God and the King in latin.

All these chaps are gathering their forces as we speak name drive on Queniborough.

Can anyone help me with the flag for the Weasels in Wind in the Willows. I was thinking simply a plain tattered flag with the words Weasels written on it, but what do you think?

Here is the VIP for you

As I have reported earlier I can reveal who the VIP is. Firstly I can report that she has been seen in the village of  Queniborough in Leicestershire and she seems to be meeting various faction heads and leaders. The question that has to be asked is "What is she doing and who is she working for?" I have tried to find out what is going on but the locals and some hired thugs have stopped me from finding out, but I did manage to snap this picture of the VIP and I think you will be surprised to see who she is. Now the question is who is she working for? Is it her father and if that is the case what are these meeting about? Is it her Uncle and if so why?

A Royal Princess

For Ray you lucky and scary boy.

A Royal Princess but who is she working for?

Watch this Space

Yes indeed watch this space as tonight the VIP for the Partizan game is going to be revealed in their full glory or something like that. So here is the tease again.

So stay turned to this radio station for more updates.

Sid James and What a Carry On

I have finished Sid James and Charles Hawtree save for the bases and I am rather pleased with them. I think a lot of the credit has to on to Paul Hicks for the excellent sculpts which only made painting them all the easier. I have paint Sid as from Carry on Jungle which seemed right and Charles I have given his a Tigers scarf, thats Leicester Tigers Rugby Team. I hope to have the bases done shortly. Just the Weasels commend to go now.
