I am Alive and Richard the Third for Mrs PK

Yes I am alive but at the moment I am going though some intense training for my new job and it has been leaving me a little knackered its evening. Also there are other things going on in the VBCW world but more on that later.

Well this weekend I though it was time to get the paint brushes and pots out and paint this wonderful figure from the Perry's of Richard the Third for my lovely wife, Mrs PK. I think she is going to bring it to work and put it on her computer, thank God I have another one to paint, lol.

It was a dream to paint and it is amazing the amount of detail there is on it. Also I was surprised to see that he actually looks like Richard the Third and is a wonderful kit. I am so pleased with the results and I am thinking of painting the other one now just for me.

The other thing that I have been doing is thinking about moving forward the timeline but for many different, good reasons these have had there difficulties, the 50s to close to the original VBCW, the 60s, 70s and 80s all to close for most of us to play so what about moving the timeline to the near future to 2038?

After decades of broken promises from the British Government at Whitehall the Scottish people have had enough of the lies and declare Independence in 2036. While the British Government is still reacting to this and trying to think what the next move will be the Welsh Assemble follows Scotland and declares Wales Independence too in January 2037.

The Government in England now is thrown into turmoil and the Government is forced into a General Election. However timing is not always the best and with all this doubt about the banking system goes into meltdown and effects all parts of society. This has a knock on effect and a world wide depression breaks out, causing many foreign Governments to look inwards to themselves. Soon left and right wing militias are fighting on the streets across the Un-united Kingdom with the Government powerless to do anything about it.

In June 2037 with the raise of the Right Wings parties and the failure of the Coalition Government to stop the fall out of the break up of the UK, Cornwall declared itself Independence from the English Government which forces the English Government into action and sends a Police force from the West Midlands into the area. This sparks the fire of rebellion in Cornwall and the West Country as a series of Guerilla campaigns start off. Initially the Guerilla campaign works but the hard pressed Police require help and the Army is called in and the Guerilla action ceases after a couple of bloody encounters. But as soon as the Police and Army reduce there present in the area a fresh wave of attacks break out and the country watches to what is going to happen next.

In November King Edward IX makes a speech trying to united the country in which he states that He will personally taking control of the Parliament and the Country with the aid from "friends". This cause an very strong outcry from the Church under a strong and militant Archbishop of Canterbury about the very fabric of the Constitution of the Country is being destroyed by this action and the King should rethink His position and gives a deadline of 1st January 2038 to comply. Meanwhile communities across the country start to "gate" themselves and hire private bodyguards to defend their properties and wealth and the streets in the cities are left to the para-military and local militias.

What do you think? Is it a winner?

  4. Great figure and a very intriguing concept for VBCW, can't see it being as popular as the original but it certainly has legs

  5. Nice idea PK. There's certainly plenty of reasons for that to be plausible.
